Silliman Water uplifts Philippine communities with clean water solutions, ensuring health, well-being, and lasting impact.
Who We Are
The Silliman Water Project is a small nonprofit organization making a big impact by providing clean water to people and communities in need in the Philippines.
With a team of only 3 people, we produce and deliver XXXXXX gallons of water to XXXXX villages, serving XXXXXX people on a regular basis as well as supporting disaster areas during times of crisis.
The basis of our impact is the SolarPure water processing system, a solar-powered mobile water purifying unit designed by a student team at Silliman University in Dumaguete City, Philippines. The SolarPure decontaminates water of unhealthy sediments, pathogens, bacteria, and other contaminates using ultra violet light and other filtering technology. It is intended to be used in remote or disaster-affected areas.
Why It Matters
Clean water is a source for life. It facilitates health, supports economic well being, and provides community quality of life. For people who live beyond city grids who do not have access to public water or the people suffering in disaster areas, Silliman Water changes lives.
Without access to clean water, catching rain water becomes the sole source of water for life. Often the water collected gets contaminated. Changing weather patterns are resulting in more frequent dry spells and increasing the occurrence of natural disasters, making rain water an even scarcer resource. Water deliveries from Silliman Water keep villages afloat and placing one SolarPure unit in a village can provide an ongoing supply of safe water to the entire community.
